Introduction:

The information society, the globalised world and a dramatic increase in the production and availability of information, which already doubles every three or four years, leads us to believe that, as well the basic and essential knowledge of each culture, it is essential to highlight education in self-learning mechanisms and strategies, which guarantee that our students can continue learning throughout their lives, as knowledge is no longer stable and permanent.

The education of individuals who master the ability to learn to learn requires a teaching practice that develops each student as a critical, reflective, autonomous and enterprising person, requiring them to develop and strengthen their natural qualities, aptitudes and abilities, to educate individuals with a self-esteem and self-concept adapted to their personal characteristics, all of which so they know how to set themselves attainable goals.

Likewise, it is vitally important that the teaching practice develops in students those effective thinking and mental processes that enables them to develop autonomous learning throughout their schooling, which guarantees gradual positive development as a person, a citizen and future professional. For this it will be necessary to plan, schedule, and carry out activities and create spaces for the acquisition of the necessary metacognitive skills and motivation in students for reflective learning.
