This challenge provides the learning and development of skills to delve into the complex task of accompanying each student in their personal learning process, in a practical and reasoned manner, as well as facilitating the intrinsic and extrinsic motivation they need throughout the long and complex process of developing their skills.

Incorporate the use of the portfolio of evidence for assessing each student’s progress depending on their possibilities, measuring the personal progress between the beginning and end of a learning process, during a specific period of time.

THE LEARNING CONTRACT AND OTHER ONE-TO-ONE WORK PLANS

Implement the use of the learning contract and other personalised work plans as means of determining an achievable challenge for each student, depending on their capabilities and rate of learning, committing the student to their own progress.

ADAPTIVE RESOURCES FOR PERSONALISING LEARNING

Choose and design learning resources that facilitate an analysis of the student and adapt the content and activities to their level and rate of learning.

Introduction:

This Challenge provides the learning and development of the necessary skills for the in-depth study of the complex task of accompanying students in their personal learning process, in a practical and logical way. All to establish learning processes that adapt to each student’s needs and interests, as well as providing intrinsic and extrinsic motivation they need throughout the long and complex process of comprehensive personal development.

The new knowledge provided by education sciences in recent years offers us significant advances and a good number of new methodological approaches, strategies and techniques that, alone or strengthened by ICTs, become first-class tools and give us the ability to address students’ diversity from the teaching role, which guarantees respect of their learning paces, their interests and their educational needs.

It is increasingly necessary to go from a teaching model focussed on content and results to another that offers personalised work plans, which include achievable, possible and realistic challenges for each student, that respect their paces, encourages responsibility and favours self-awareness, as a guarantee to promote the learning to learn competency.

In short, knowing how to accompany the student to facilitate learning that enables them to progress not just in knowledge but also in the learning to learn competency through their own experiences, to consciously commit to their daily work and know how to use the resources that best adapt to their possibilities and personal characteristics, is an undeniable objective that quality education for the 21st century must aim for.

Competency objectives:

The Educational Leadership Challenge enables:

  • Command of the skill as you will be able to plan the design of a learning portfolio for your students.
  • Planning of the design of a learning contract or personalised work plan and their implementation in the classroom.
  • Choose and design learning resources that facilitate an analysis of the student to adapt the content and activities to their level and rate of learning.

Methodology:

Through a personalised self-analysis, we will analyse and propose the course that best suits you, to first work on the skills you need most to develop your teaching competencies following your chosen Challenge.

We will propose:

  • Practical case studies and different scenarios of educational practice
  • Theory relating to the subject matter
  • Proposal for application in your classroom or work environment
  • Simulation
  • Self-assessment
  • Indications, suggestions and examples to implement real practice, gather evidence and share it with other colleagues.

Peer-to-peer tutoring:

TeachersPro is designed to develop teaching skills and competencies through interaction with other peers, expanding professional criteria through effective studying and sharing of practical situations in diverse contexts.

Certification:

TeachersPro certifies the knowledge you acquire through a badge system. If you wish, at the end of each Learning Challenge you can obtain a professional teaching certificate for the competency you have completed through a specific tutor, and recognition from Finland University (the most important consortium of public universities in Finland).
